The first new figure offered in the Action Figure of the Month Club Kickstarter. Also see: Chorager. In late 2020 the mold for Desert Rat went through a refresh to alter the upper legs from shorts to a more geared-up look and the Matt Doughty "Chorager" head was changed to Vaughn Von Braughn. Designed and sculpted by Erwin Papa and Anthony Sok.

Character History[]

"I have a confession to make....I took a big gamble on this campaign. So much so that I actually already started the tooling process for the Desert Rat. I sold off a bunch of my toy collection to pay for the expense and to give this campaign a leg up in the production cycle. My hope was all of you would rise to the occasion and cover my bet, and it paid off! The factory sent me this tooling model pic today (you can see the original sculpt on the left) so I'm happy to announce we are already on our way.

I'm awaiting the production timeline but my hope is the Desert Rat will ship within the first few months of the club. If I had waited until this campaign ended, the soonest we'd see him would be summer.

Also- here's a close up of the Mauser 8mm gun he comes with. I've always been obsessed with Mausers since the Rocketeer, so it's cool to finally be able to have one with a stock in this scale. Also loved using the Red9 in Resident Evil 4!"^[1]

Test Shot Auction[]

"A one of a kind test shot from the factory, includes a rare sprue with the pieces still attached. From 2018, this was after the first production wave of Desert Rat while trying to experiment with different plastic temperatures (hence the "92" degrees marking in pen). Includes the originally baggie from the factory as well as a signed and dated sticker seal for authentication."

The auction closed March 19th, 2021. Highest bid was $135. The funds from the auction are put towards the production of a new item.

Paq Viper Green[]

"A new conflict between Paq Viper and Hackerman Apis. Viper started his teenage years as a Vietnam War protester and organizer, only to be scooped up by the Black Satellite in an extraordinary rendition. Rather than let good meat go to waste, The Black Satellite started a decades long reprogramming, turning the peacenik into what he hated most: a war machine. Dispatched to an undisclosed location in Central America, Viper is tasked with terminating the entity known as Hackerman Apis. Apis has been allying himself with local indigenous people and helping them guard their valuable mineral caves from outside seizure. Obviously, this cannot stand! While in the caves, searching frantically for Apis, Viper can’t help but feel at peace. 10,000 years ago, early humans lived in such places. Cave drawings tell us so! Why did they leave? Why give up the safety? Maybe there is something ingrained in our DNA forcing us to explore, to push through barriers. Walk the Bering Strait, etc etc. These are the thoughts Viper thinks to himself.
