The Return of Silas[]
In the total silence of deep space, Silas slowly spun, watching the stars drifting past. A set of stars pulled into view -- a constellation that he recognized. He had done it! After unknown years, he had escaped the Void and returned to nominal space! Too exhausted to form words, Silas simply whooped in joy, although no one -- not even the shining figure next to him -- could hear his exultation.
The Visitor of Theta Fusion[]
Alien to nominal space, to the very dimension, the Theta Visitors carry an unnerving interest in the activities of the sentients around them. From individuals to galactic societies, any can feel the unease of Theta scrutiny. Particularly flustering is the Theta Fusion, a gathering of cosmic energies into their glowing bodies before they do something dramatic, such as vanishing with a wink of their eye.
Leyden with a Tornahart[]
Not born in the usual way of his kind, unknown to the clans and governments of his society, Tornahart Leyden walks tall in the secrecy of his origins, of his existence.
Solar Energies of Ourturn[]
At first, he had no name, just existing to enact his creator's plans. Able to absorb and release solar energies, he powered infernal machines and leveled ridgelines on his master's whims. Until he freed himself in a stolen starcraft, feeding it's phase drives from his own stored power and ultimately landed on the moonworld Ourturn. Depleted to near death, he crawled from the craft and rabidly sucked energy from the bright solar body orbiting above. To his dismay, Ourturn's artificial sun flickered and faded to a dull ember, unable to maintain its dynamism. So he wanders through blood red darkness, barely able to emit a ghastly aura while seeking to apologize, to cure the deathly state of this small world. And now he has many names: Star Sucker, Energy Ghoul and, most frequently, Fright Light.
Repo Mission on Ourturn[]
A repo ship dropped into orbit around tiny Ourturn and the pilot gimbaled his couch around, stroking the sensor controls as they slipped by. He snorted at the moonworld below him, but the stolen starcraft he sought was down there. *squigch* He morphed from leyden to yough; rapid shapeshifting was a tic of his, particularly when irritated. *squigch* Back to leyden. Irritated because after their failed invasion attempt (who knew there'd be Travelers?), the Trinity Council reimagined and rebranded. Now he, who was once Attack Wing Belo (sub)Supreme Engineer, was another Destianom doing... this. *squigch* *squigch* A hail pinged in from an Abyssal Visitor stationed below: help requested, dying artificial sun specified. *squigch* The Abyssals were a coven of zealots recruited by -- well, wasn't that interesting, the (sub)supreme engineer had some new biotech onboard that just might fix the thing. But where could he find a hyper-capacity organic solar battery?
Darkest Depths of Ourturn[]
Ourturn is a small moonworld, but its ocean is deep. As the solo Ecopod envoy to this marine biome, the Visitor stood in the darkest depths and simply listened through every passive receptor and snap-filtered the data streams. The world above was broken - the trade winds had ceased and soon the ocean ecology would fall as well. So the Visitor ascended, her suit injecting scrubbers and detox to accommodate the fathoms. Wading onto the encrusted beach, she found unexpected darkness and Ourturn locals desperate for aid: their artificial sun throbbed dully red, dying after sabotage by an alien subject. What did she, an Abyssal Acolyte, know of solar constructs? But she did know a tricky engineer who knew machineries as she did the abyss. The Visitor looked up and pinged the deeper black of space.
